Health and fitness tech has long been synonymous with wrist-based wearables. But at CES 2018, that line blurred more than in years past.

While traditional fitness trackers are still a big part of the show, we did not see many game changers announced in Las Vegas. The Apple Watch Series 3, Fitbit Ionic, and Samsung Gear Sport all arrived in the fall. Fitbit did not even have a booth at this year's CES. Many of the wearables and fitness trackers we did, see more featured incremental upgrades.

That said, there were some interesting concepts like L'Oreal's UV Sense, a tiny wearable resembling nail art that's designed to detect ultraviolet exposure. Blocks showed off its modular smartwatch.
