Computer assistants such as Amazon's Alexa, the Google Assistant or Microsoft's Cortana are preinstalled.  Voice assistants have so far barely been used in parallel operation – although Microsoft showed an interaction between Alexa and Cortana earlier this year.
But it's possible with these new chips from Intel cores, as the company explained in the run-up to the IFA technology trade fair taking place in Berlin from Aug 31 though Sept 5.
Potenti ally, it's possible to allow any number of voice assistants to run. They should also start up with a wake word like “Alexa” or “OK Google” if the device is in idle mode.
Intel has also improved the network connection with these new chips, among other enhancements. – dpa
