We present to you the 182nd issue of our weekly project “Android News”! Today we will talk about the Mysterious Pixel Stand, the RAM memory record for a smartphone and much more. Below with the same news you can see in the traditional text format.

The record of RAM for smartphones

RAM is one of the main components of the smartphone's fast operation. In this regard, manufacturers are actively working to increase the amount of RAM and create more and more models of record-holders. Today, 8 GB is mostly run by special versions of the flagships, although there are also common models. This Galaxy Note 9, OnePlus 6, Huawei P20 Pro and other devices. Soon manufacturers will increase the bar to 10 GB.

Oppo will set a new record. In June, the company announced the flagship Find X. First of all, the smartphone surprised with a huge frameless display of 6.42 inches, which occupies about 87 percent of the front panel. He also received a double main camera, a protective glass Gorilla Glass 5 and a battery for 3730 mAh. The case was highlighted by the activation mechanism of the main camera, which resembles slider phones.

The basic version runs on 128 GB of internal memory with a Snapdragon 845 chip. The amount of RAM is 8 GB.

Now the company is preparing an improved version flagship. The model will receive 256 GB of internal memory and 10 GB of operative data, reports Phone Arena.

The information on the site of the Chinese Telecommunications Certification Center (TENAA) helped to do this. The smartphone lit up in the database and told me a little about myself. The maximum clock speed of its processor will be 2.8 GHz, while out of the box the device will work on Android 8.1.

The exact date of the announcement is unknown, but usually the appearance of the device in the TENAA database hints at an early presentation. According to journalists, it is not worthwhile to count on the world-wide availability of premium Oppo Find X. The model will be sold in China, so it will not be easy to obtain.

The recommended price for Oppo Find X was 999 euros.

Who can steal messages in instant messengers?

Despite the fact that the secret of personal correspondence is an inalienable right of every person, hackers for the most part adhere to a different point of view and continually release malicious applications , violating the protection of instant messengers and reading the messages that we send. According to the researchers of the antivirus company ESET, recently another type of program called OwnMe, spying on WhatsApp users, recently appeared on the Web

Like most spyware, OwnMe is distributed through compromised resources under the guise of benign software. Once on the device, the spyware asks for a number of privileges that allow it to take root in the system and begin tracking the user, collecting a wide range of data about him and his actions.

In addition to reading the correspondence in WhatsApp, OwnMe saves the browser history of its victims, SMS messages , contacts, photos, data about movements and facts of connecting the infected device to charging. However, as noted by Lucas Stefanko, the ESET virus analyst, OwnMe is still in the testing phase, and therefore not all of its functions can work correctly. Obviously, he says that while developers are just testing the malware, preparing for its widespread distribution.

Stefanko studied the original OwnMe source code, which is available on the GitHub developer site, and concluded that by the time the release version was released, the malware could get a few additional features that enhance its capabilities. In particular, it will be able to make screenshots, simulating the functionality of keyloggers and thus collecting data about the logins and passwords of their victims used to log into accounts of all kinds of sites and web services.

The Google Chrome feature, which nobody likes [19659003] In early September, the release of the browser Google Chrome 69 with an interface in the style of Material Design, a password generator and an “intelligent” search line. After a couple of weeks it turned out that the developers did not mention the important innovation. When authorized on any Google service, the updated browser automatically logs into your account and synchronizes your browsing history and other data. Many users do not want them to be sent to the server, so the function was severely criticized. It seems that the company recognized the error and is ready to fix it.

According to SlashGear, in the final version of Google Chrome 70, the company will allow to disable automatic authorization. This can be done in the “Privacy and Security” settings section.

Developers will add a connection indicator to the interface to visually show the synchronization status. Also, the browser will completely delete session cookies – until now they have been saved to facilitate re-authorization. If you delete them, the browser will automatically sign out of your account.

In its blog, the company reassured users that automatic login does not imply sending history, a list of extensions and other data to the server. To do this, users need to enable synchronization on their own.

According to product manager Chrome Zach Koch, the company added a feature to prevent confusion when using the browser several people. According to the developers, the photo of the authorized user on the upper right corner reminds people to restart under their own name.

The release of Google Chrome 70 will take place in mid-October, but the exact date is not yet known.

The first photos of the mystical Pixel Stand

We already know that on October 9 Google will present a presentation, during which it will present Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL, wireless charging Pixel Stand and “smart” headphones Pixel Buds second generation. And if the appearance of smartphones is not a secret for a whole month due to the massive drain of prototypes that occurred this fall, then the design of the charging station in conditions of information vacuum seemed something incredible. But thanks to the efforts of colleagues from MySmartPrice and this bastion fell.

Judging by the images, Pixel Stand will resemble the smartphone part of Samsung's Charger Station Wireless Charger Duo, although it will appear in the characteristic for Google's devices a light color scheme. The charger will receive a vertical support that will support the smartphone in a standing state and comfortably use it without having to bend over the screen, as is the case with horizontal charging platforms.

 ps

The characteristics of Pixel Stand remain secret, and the only technical detail that is known about it is the USB-C standard. The output power of the charger is not disclosed, however, given the technological advancement of Google, there are reasons to believe that it will be enough to provide smartphones with accelerated charging.

A curious feature of Pixel Stand is its positioning. If you believe the content of the program code Android 9 Pie, Google intends to provide in-depth synchronization between memory and Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. In particular, as AndroidInsider.ru noted, when charging on smartphones, a special mode will be activated by default, which will allow using them as home smart displays, sending Google Assistant voice commands.
