iPad Pro 2018 model year will preserve the diagonal of displays of previous generation devices, but at the same time they will receive more compact cases, the Japanese resource Mac Otakara reports referring to industry sources. This can be achieved by reducing the frame around the perimeter of the display 10.5- and 12.9-inch plates.

According to Mac Otakara, the 10.5-inch model will have the following dimensions: 247.5 x 178.7 x 6 mm. Where more significant changes will be the older version with a diagonal display of 12.9 inches. It will be clad in a case 280 x 215 x 6.4 mm. This is a serious reduction (from 5 mm from sides to 2 cm from the ends), which should positively affect the usability.

New iPad Pro – differences

It is also known that this year Apple will continue the tradition started in the iPhone 7 , and will reject the 3.5 mm connector in branded tablets. As in the case of smartphones, this solution is forced, since the Smart Connector will move to the place of the mini-jack in the new iPad.

Moving the Smart Connector to the lower end means that the new generation tablet with the keyboard will occur in a vertical orientation. Hardly such a solution will add convenience to the interaction with the tablet, but it can not be ruled out that sources referenced by Mac Otakara have made a mistake in wording.
