Recently, the company Uber first showed a prototype of its flying taxi. Fly on such vehicles, we will not be soon, but it is obvious that sooner or later it should become the norm, because there are not enough places on the roads. Uber plans to lift the first passengers into the air somewhere in 2020. It is possible to imagine that already in 2028 we will all actively use flying taxis. And what will the stops look like in 2028?

Obviously, not only taxis are needed, but also a kind of stop for passengers, where they can board a cab and leave it. In UberAIR, something similar is called “Skyports”. Heavenly ports are nothing but stops on the hill, from where they can take off a taxi and where they can land.

On the second day of Elevate 2018, the second annual Uber conference on air travel, six designers and architects demonstrated their vision of the future . The same requirements were applied to all works: each Skyport should serve more than 4 thousand passengers per hour and occupy no more than three acres.

The project from BOKA Powell can provide two thousand take-offs and landings every hour.

Humphrey & Partners was inspired by bee hives during the creation of its project. At the same time, they tried to stop the future successfully fits into what we see on the streets now. In their stop, even a parking lot is provided.

Modular Skyport from Gannet Fleming is designed to work with all types of public transport.

The project from Corgan consists of three parts: the motorway at the bottom, the railway station in the middle and the landing site at the top.

The project of a really high stop was created by Pickard Chilton and ARUP. This is the only project in which flying taxis will land and take off at different levels.
