Asus has been revealed two new Republic of Gamers (ROG) notebooks fitted with keyboards to suit fans of different game genres.

The Scar II is aimed at first-person shooter fans and has white WASD keys. The Hero II is the same as the QWER keys.

Both 2.4 kg notebooks come with 15.6-inch Full-HD display (1920 x 1080 pixels), a GTX 1060 or 1070 Nvidia graphics chip , up to 32 GB of RAM and a complex cooling system that allows users to choose between maximum cooling or the lowest possible noise level.

The Scar II costs US $ 1,999 (RM 8,010) while the Hero II retails for US $ 1,699 (RM6 , 809).

For mobile gamers there's also the Asus ROG Phone, an Android smartphone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. The phone with a six-inch Full-HD Plus display (1080 to 2160 pixels) shares many components with the new Asus flagship phone, the Zenfone 5.

The ROG phone works as an input device and the corners have ultrasonic sensors called Air Triggers which can be used as controller buttons.

There are also three USB-C ports and a dock is available that can link the phone up to a 4K monitor. Asus has not announced a sales date or pricing yet. – dpa
