In addition to the high psychological stress experienced by pilots during routine flights, they sometimes find themselves in extreme, life-threatening situations.

The world leader in logistics, postal and courier services, FedEx together with Osterhout Design Group, known for its developments in advanced reality technologies, are working to create a hybrid system consisting of SAVED smart glasses ( Smoke Assured Vision Enhanced Display) and oxygen mask. These glasses will be projected data from the external cameras of the aircraft, which will allow pilots to confidently act in emergency situations when the cabin smoke.

According to representatives of Osterhout Design Group, the new system is easy to install and operate. Usually, smart glasses are very cumbersome, but in combination with an oxygen mask they look very compact.

Not surprisingly, the first (and so far only) customer of the system was the company itself FedEx. It has long been used smart SAVED glasses for training pilots. It is not excluded that other companies engaged in the field of courier, postal services and air transportation will use this system, which will help to avoid catastrophes.
