The Raleigh City Police Department, North Carolina, with the participation of Google, has begun testing innovative techniques for searching suspects for crimes. The new initiative is testing the use of Google accounts to detect all people near the scene of the crime before, during and after the crime.
A new technique for identifying suspects was used by the North Carolina police in the investigation of at least four crimes committed in the last year . One of them was discovered thanks to Google's assistance. The only reason why law enforcement officers do not use the system more often is the need to obtain a sanction that only the court can issue.
In essence, the search system for suspects, which in some English language is called innovative, exists long ago. To verify this, launch the Google Maps application, go to the context menu, and click the Timeline tab. There you can see data about all your movements around the world for any date from the moment of registration of the account.
