Colonization of the new world is impossible without the reproduction of the population of colonists, but the bodies of people, all our physiology, are adapted for reproduction only in the conditions of the planet Earth. If we take Mars as an example, as a primary goal for colonization, then on the way there, and on the surface of the planet itself, the colonists will be exposed to strong radiation exposure. This amounts to voluntary and painful sterilization, since cells of the reproductive organs will be among the first to suffer. But it's not so bad.

Microgravity, while on Mars it is three times lower than terrestrial, will lead not only to muscle atrophy, but also to a gradual loss of bone mass. Even the distribution of fluid in the human body will change dramatically, including the eyes and spinal canals of colonists – there is no need to multiply for blind and helpless invalids. If the children appear, they will certainly suffer from immunosuppression, being away from the terrestrial conditions to which evolution has prepared their bodies.

The output seems relatively simple – it is necessary to make changes in the genome of future colonists, specifically to deduce the “Human Cosmic”, a new subspecies of Homo Sapiens. However, in addition to the overall complexity of the idea, there is a big practical problem: we have little idea of ​​how space affects the reproductive function of man. And if you want to voluntarily go to Mars now even more than enough, then it is not yet possible to carry out a complex of experiments with the bearing of a child and childbirth even in near space.
