Scientists of the Kaunas Institute of Technology (Lithuania) have developed a new technology for purifying drinking water, protecting it from re-contamination for several months.
Water purification today is not a big problem. In particular, tourists traveling to exotic countries usually carry special disinfecting tablets. However, if today the water that has been cleaned up is safe, then in a few days it can again undergo so-called secondary pollution.
A team of researchers from Lithuania managed to ensure that the water purified by their method retains antibacterial properties for up to three months. While this technology is kept secret. It is known that the taste of purified water differs from tap water.
It is also known that in the purification process some ingredients are used in small concentrations, in particular, silver, which was used for the same purposes even in ancient Rome.
As reported by the developers, a new means of water disinfection will be produced in the form of liquid and tablets, which will make it popular, first of all, with the military during the period of military operations.
The technology is already patented and ready for implementation – including for industrial use. Researchers also believe that over time it will be possible to establish a serial commercial release of bottled purified water.js.src = “&version=v2.8”; 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));
