The new Hue Sync app connects the computer to Hue light sources, constantly checking the screen content so that the main color is displayed by the LEDs. The idea is to extend the gaming atmosphere to the whole room.
Philips has developed a device for this kind of atmospheric lighting. The Hue Play light bar, unveiled at the recent Gamescom trade fair in Germany, can be positioned under the monitor to illuminate the wall. It costs in the most glare-free way, it can be deployed in other places.
It costs just under US $ 70 (RM290), with a pair for US $ 130 (RM539), and should be available from October. As well as games, the Hue Sync app for PC and Mac can also be used to accentuate films and music with light. – dpa
