The Wave MIDI controller in the form of a ring is a project of the technological startup Genki Insruments (Iceland), presented on the Indiegogo crowindfinding platform. Unlike conventional rings that have a fixed size, Wave can be worn on a finger of any thickness, thanks to a special stretch bracelet, where the main ring module is inserted.
To learn how to use Wave, you need to master five basic movements, which you then need to “tie” to software. For example, moving the hand with the right-to-left ring, you change the volume control, and to change the tempo, you just need to tap with your finger.
The Wave stuffing consists of a Bluetooth antenna, motion sensors, a battery designed for 4 hours of operation and a special Eurorack module for connecting the gadget to the synthesizers.
Wave has already been successfully tested in conjunction with a variety of digital audio applications – Ableton Live, Logic Pro X, Pro Tools, Reaper, Bitwig, FL Studio, Studio One, Garage Band G-Stomper Studio / Rhythm and others. With the planned 30,000 start-ups already collected 43,000 dollars. On Indiegogo Wave can be purchased for 129 dollars.
It is worth noting that this is not the first such gadget. For example, one of his predecessors is the iRing musical ring from Enhancia Multimedia, with which you can gesticulate your hands to control sounds and effects.js.src = “&version=v2.8”; 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));
