The international team of scientists completed a meta-analysis of the largest research in recent years and concluded that most of the popular mineral and vitamin supplements in the world do not bring any health benefits. During the period from 2012 to 2017, 179 full-scale clinical trials were conducted, the purpose of which was to test the relationship between supplementation and the risk of cardiovascular diseases. As well as all the common deaths from the “wear” of the body.

The main “accused” were vitamin C, vitamin D, calcium and multivitamins, as most often found in commercial preparations. According to one of the authors of the project, Dr. David Jenkins, with a large sample of different patients, they failed to find a positive effect on the intake of these substances on human health. The data does not even go beyond the statistical error – you will not help the prevention of stroke if you take supplements on a regular basis.

No benefit, but no harm from taking vitamin and mineral supplements. Doctors were surprised by this fact, because the real shortage of these substances is harmful to health, and this is also a proven fact. It turned out that the truth lies in the field of not medicine, but the economy – the costs of introducing additives into the diet do not ultimately pay off. It is more profitable to spend money simply for food, which is traditionally considered healthy, so that it can be saturated and get the desired vitamins and minerals.

The exception, and this was emphasized by many authors of the study, are clinical cases, when additional doses of vitamins are prescribed by the doctor not for the prevention of sores, but for compensating for their shortage. This applies to pregnancy, developmental abnormalities, hormone level disorders, mutations, etc. Vitamin supplements as a medicine are good, but they are also for the prevention of sores in a whole healthy person – a waste of money.
