As you already probably know, from 18 to 21 April the editorial of AndroidInsider.ru visited the Global Sources Mobile Electronics exhibition in Hong Kong. We managed to test smartphones of many famous manufacturers, but the main surprise of the last event was the Ulefone T2 Pro flagship.

For the first time the prototype Ulefone T2 Pro was seen at the Mobile Congress in Barcelona. Then the gadget, more like a concept than a commercial model, pleasantly surprised almost all the visitors of the event. A really huge display without frames at an affordable price is it not a masterpiece?

The concept of an “affordable” flagship, a priori implying a compromise, suits Ulefone T2 Pro as well as possible. Otherwise, it just can not be. But the more interesting it is to see how the producer erupts, solving all the controversial issues.

The first thing you pay attention to is a six-inch display with a Sharp ratio of 19: 9. It looks so cool that you forgive even a seizure of a la iPhone X, without which here, obviously, was indispensable.

The only unoccupied area on the front panel of the Ulefone T2 Pro is a small ledge at the bottom. However, it is so small that you simply do not pay attention to it, because all your attention will be drawn to the display.

On the back there are only LED flash and a double peephole of the main camera, which can make portrait shots and, probably, zoom in on the image without loss of quality. Dactyloscopic scanner, which as if on a whim, you search under the camera, combined with the display matrix. Remembering that the flagship is positioned as affordable, you inevitably begin to look for a dirty trick, but without finding it, you think with admiration: “It does not happen like this!”. But no, it even happens.

As an alternative way to unlock, the hardware and software complex Face ID 2.0 will be offered. Yes, unlike competitors using exclusively software algorithms, T2 Pro received a dedicated sensor scanning the entire face relief. Here, finally, you understand that an asymmetric display with a notch is the lowest payment that you can pay for security.

The smartphone feels surprisingly comfortable in the hand. It is light, glass and metal pleasantly cool the palm, and the rounded edges do not cut into the phalanxes of the fingers. The case of the Ulefone T2 Pro is so compact that the news that a 5000 mAh battery is installed inside it is first perceived as a joke.

Despite the fact that an engineering sample was brought to the exhibition before its appearance in retail will take at least three more months, its performance does not cause rejection or disappointment. It seems that everything works exactly as it should work.

The basis of Ulefone T2 Pro is the MediaTek P70 processor and 8 GB of RAM. The P70 is by far not the most top-end chipset, whose performance is somewhere between Snapdragon 820 and 835. The manufacturer's decision not to equip the novelty with the most powerful “stone” follows from its price. According to AndroidInsider.ru, the model will be on sale for about $ 400.

Together with T2 Pro, the vendor brought to the exhibition a simplified version of the flagship smartphone – T2. Externally and internally, the younger model differs little from the older model, except that the display with an aspect ratio of 18: 9 and a fingerprint scanner that was left on the back panel. The performance of the smartphone is answered by the MediaTek P60 chipset with 6 GB of RAM.

Sales of both versions of Ulefon T2 start in August 2018. The date of appearance on the market, as well as the exact retail prices of models will be announced additionally. To buy new items at a discount before others – follow the news on AndroidInsider.ru.
